The BPAC is an advisory committee to TAM's Executive Director that meets on a quarterly basis. It was established in May 2008 as mandated by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) to advise on candidate project applications for State Transportation Development Act Article 3 funds administered by the Commission, for applications for funding under MTC's Regional Bicycle and Pedestrian Program (RBPP) and for assisting in the implementation of "routine accommodation."
The TAM Board approved the formation of a 13-member BPAC consisting of six geographic and nine "special perspective" representatives (two members play dual roles):
