Combined Countywide Transportation Plan and Community-Based Transportation Plan

Stay tuned! Public out reach for the CTP will kick off in 2024. Join our mailing list to receive the latest project updates and opportunities to get involved.

A Countywide Transportation Plan (CTP) sets a long-term vision for transportation in Marin County that reflects the Transportation Authority of Marin’s (TAM) commitment to a sustainable, equitable, and effective transportation system. This will be Marin County’s first CTP and will build on the 2017 Strategic Vision Plan.

The CTP will outline overarching strategies and specific projects and policies intended to enhance mobility, reduce congestion, and improve safety across all modes of transportation, including driving, public transit, walking, and biking.

Comprehensive Planning to Meet Diverse Needs

TAM has previously prepared Community-Based Transportation Plans (CBTP) for equity priority communities in Marin City, San Rafael, and Novato. Building upon these efforts, the CTP will be combined with a new countywide CBTP to focus on specific near-term projects to advance equity and address transportation challenges in underserved communities.

TAM’s Commitment to Transparency, Equity, and Inclusion

TAM’s dedication to transparency, equity, and inclusion will be at the forefront of our approach to the Combined CTP and CBTP. In every stage, from public outreach to planning and policy recommendations, these guiding principles will ensure a CTP and CBTP that reflect the needs of all citizens, regardless of their socioeconomic status, race, age, or disability.

TAM received $400,000 for the Countywide Transportation Plan and $150,000 for the Community Based Transportation Plan through the One Bay Area Grant Program, Cycle 3.
