ONE BAY AREA GRANT PROGRAM – CALL FOR PROJECTS

On May 31, 2022, TAM released a Call for Projects for the One Bay Area Grant Cycle 3 (OBAG 3) that is comprised of federal Surface Transportation Program (STP) and Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds. OBAG 3 emphasizes projects and programs that improve safety, spur economic development, support Equity Priority Communities, and help the Bay Area meet climate change and air quality improvement goals, while continuing the policies of prior OBAG cycles of prioritizing projects that promote housing development and land use connection to transit.

FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR PROGRAMMING

OBAG 3 funds will be programmed over a four-year period from FY 22/23 to FY 25/26. Based on a distribution formula on the available OBAG 3 funds, TAM will submit nominations up $11.144 million to MTC from applications received from this Call. MTC will select the final projects amounting to approximately $9.5 million among the nominations submitted.

ELIGIBLE SPONSORS

Eligible sponsors in Marin County include cities, counties, transit agencies, federally-recognized Tribal governments, and TAM.

PUBLIC INPUT

If a member of the public has a project concept they would like to be considered, they are encouraged to contact the local jurisdiction where the project is located or transit agency for transit-related projects to present the concept for potential sponsorship and inclusion in the grant process.
