Drawings of new bus shelter design

The Redwood and Grant Transit Improvement Project redesigns a key transit facility located within the median on Redwood Boulevard between Grant and De Long avenues. The new design better accommodates buses and riders, as well as improve access for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The existing transit facility was originally constructed in 1978 and serves as a critical bus transfer station in Marin County as well as the gateway to downtown Novato. The project was carried out by Marin Transit, in cooperation with TAM, County of Marin, City of Novato, and Golden Gate Transit and was completed in 2017.

For more information, visit the Marin Transit project page.

TAM has allocated approximately $3.4 million to help support planning, design and construction.

  • Lifeline – Proposition 1B share
  • TAM Lifeline funds
  • Congestion Management Agency (CMA) planning funds
  • TAM local funds
